Josh Wright will stay on as Worsbrough Bridge manager until his replacement is appointed
Josh Wright has resigned as manager of Worsbrough Bridge, but will remain in charge until his replacement is appointed.
He also intends to continue playing for Worsbrough “as long as the new manager wants” him.
The news was released following Worsbrough’s clash with FC Bolsover and it means Wright’s eleven month reign at Park Road is coming to an end.
As a manager, Wright will be remembered for steering Worsbrough to safety last season.
Wright said: “My decision isn’t down to results as we haven’t had the worse start considering we have played eight away games, it is down to the fact of my desire to continue to play.
“I miss playing a real lot and I tested myself by playing against Brigg and Dronfield before having a week out off playing. After that it became apparent that my heart is in playing still.
“I feel I have done the job asked of me which was saving the club from relegation and I’ll keep that with me as a memorable moment.
“The year the rest has done me good and I feel physically better than I have done for a good few years so now it is about getting my match fitness back.
“I’ll stay at Worsbrough as long as the new manager wants me to. I’d like to thank the club for their support and for giving me the opportunity and I think the infrastructure is there for the club to progress.”
