Worsbrough Bridge 1-3 Nostell Miners Welfare
Nostell Miners Welfare now have the same amount of wins they picked up during the whole of last season after a magnificent victory at Worsbrough Bridge.
Those who had written Nostell off after several beatings in a row are eating their words following the win at Park Road.
The Wakefield-based team showed great character to come from behind to end their six-match winless run.
They were probably fearing the worst when Tom Booth netted an own goal past their new goalkeeper Aiden Tyas, the former Worsbrough stopper.
Their talisman Jamie Miller quickly levelled the scores as half-time approached.
The visitors had to be patient and it wasn’t until late in the game when they seized the moment.
Former Garforth Town man Izzy Mbire reacted to a rebound from a free kick to score.
Miller then effectively the points with Nostell’s third with ten minutes remaining.
No one’s writing them off
Worsborough are a team that are rebuilding .
Hopefully next appointment will be young, ambitious and willing to work with current personel (who have done a good job prior). Doesn’t mater where the new manager is from. Everything is in place, few new additions to players and Worsborough will be a solid outfit.
