Selby Town celebrated their biggest attendance for a ‘normal’ league fixture since April 2016 as 124 people turned out to see the 3-3 draw with Ollerton Town.
Selby are reporting long queues at the turnstiles as local people are so enthused by the enthralling style of play that Christian Fox has developed.
Although a draw was disappointing, Selby remain in a strong position in the table, going into the second half of the season.
Reece Lucas’ header broke the deadlock before Ollerton equalised. Joe Dale’s goal of the season contender placed Selby back in front as half-time approached.
Liam Flanagan’s lob made it 3-1 and seemingly sealed matters. However, Ollerton hit back and snatched a draw.
Swallownest were beaten 4-0 at Grimsby Borough.
Joel Hughes scored for Campion in their 3-1 defeat at Dronfield Town.
Jason Stokes and Declan Howe got the goals in Nostell Miners Welfare’s 2-0 defeat to Rossington Main.
One step at a time but a club like Selby should be getting crowds of 200 plus. Let’s hope the locals get behind the club. Onwards and upwards . From all fans in Spain.
It would be nice 200 hoping when we play knaresborough 30th December it will happen R P
