Unstoppable Knaresborough Town will be playing Premier Division football next season after clinching promotion.

Even Antony Brown’s last minute penalty to equalise for second-placed Eccleshill could not spoil the party as Aidan Day’s late double for Campion in their win over Grimsby Borough meant a draw was good enough for Knaresborough.

Paul Stansfield’s men now require four points to secure the title. This will be a formality based on how formidable Knaresborough have been this season.

They were just minutes away from being one point away from the crown. Steve Bromley’s near-post finish had given Knaresborough an early lead.

Despite several efforts, Stansfield’s side could not deliver the knockout blow. Brown was the hero for Eccleshill, whose own promotion hopes are heavily boosted by the draw and Grimsby’s defeat.
