Comfortable victory for Handsworth

Garforth Town 0-4 Handsworth Parramore

Handsworth’s double goal-scorer Jordan Turner

Doubles from Jonathan Hill and Jordan Turner provided a comfortable away victory for Handsworth in East Leeds.

Two early first half goals from Hill gave injury-hit Garforth a mountain to climb. Turner would wrap up the three points with two quick-fire strikes deep into the second half.

Garforth’s home campaign finished on a whimper, summing up their recent form of three draws and six defeats since the 3-2 win over Worksop Town on February 10th.

The dangerous Hill pounced upon the rebound after Jordan Turner’s strike cannoned back off the left-hand post.

Parramore continued to take the game to Garforth and Hill made sure it was a long way back for the hosts with a superb looping header from the edge of the penalty area.

James Leverton had relatively little to do in the Handsworth goal. Garforth had a flurry of actively in patches of the second half, but were Handsworth were really troubled? Probably not.

Handsworth had complete control on proceedings and showed why they are where they are in the league by scoring twice in five minutes to kill the game.

Young Oli Yates, the former Ossett Albion right-back, won the ball back in a high area for Parramore. He crossed and striker Turner converted from close range.

Turner would score again minutes later after heading from James Ashmore’s free kick.
