Two top quality free kicks from captain Joe Jagger earned Harrogate Railway a deserved 3-1 victory at Rossington Main.
Both came in the first half and the second one is a goal of the season contender (clip at the bottom of the page).
The Toolstation NCEL Division One win is their second under new manager Des Macorison who has done a great job so far at Station View.
Jagger, tipped by NLY in July to be as successful as Eli Hey was in his first campaign in the NCEL, has lived up to his billing with five league goals in the same number of appearances.
His tenth minute opener saw him bend the ball around the Rossington wall and into the right-hand bottom corner.
Rossington equalised through Tom Foltyn-Brown.
Jagger restored the lead and the second free kick was a pile-driver from similar distance – with a little bit of help from the post.
The second half was a nervy affair as Rossington pushed for an equaliser. Railway had their chances to add the third, but they had to wait until the final minute when Paddy Sykes headed home.
Chris Jackson sent Christian Fox’s Selby Town back to the top of the table with his last gasp winner in the 2-1 defeat of Brigg Town.
With 13 points out of a possible 15, Selby have now recorded their best return of points from their opening five league games since 2001 – the season Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder led Alfreton Town to the Premier Division title.
But it was a rare off day for Selby who trailed to Joe Smithson’s first half goal.
The fight-back began with 15 minutes to go and Harry Bissett was involved in both the equaliser and the winner.
His cross was turned in for an own goal for the first goal. Selby were now all over their visitors and Brigg were creaking under the immense pressure. Bissett again sent a low cross into the box and popular local figure Jackson scored.
Brandon Bagley and Brad McGowan earned Parkgate a 2-1 win at previously unbeaten Retford FC.
