Garforth Town’s record goal-scorer Mark Simpson has joined Toolstation NCEL Premier Division rivals Liversedge.
The move was confirmed hours after Sedge’s 4-1 victory over Garforth at Clayborn.
Simpson scored 100 goals for Garforth over several spells, but left the club last weekend.
Jonathan Rimmington told Non League Yorkshire: “Simmo is a proven goal-scorer at this level so he adds a lot to the team.
“He knows a few of our lads already and he doesn’t live far from the ground so I know he will fit in well. We’re preparing for a tough few months so we need to be as strong as possible and Simmo only improves us.”
Barton were originally supposed to have signed Simpson, but it has proved not to be the case.
