Top stopper Brett Souter has been unveiled as Hemsworth Miners Welfare’s new goalkeeper and captain.
Souter is more than an adequate replacement for Jordan Greaves who has joined Handsworth. Although still relatively young, he brings real experience and quality to a key position so it is a bit of a coup for Hemsworth.
Souter is best known for his stint with Ossett Albion and then Ossett United. He made over 100 appearances for Albion.
His signing concludes a positive day for Hemsworth who are rebuilding under Luke Danville and Luke Potter after the departure of a string of key players.
Josh Wright, Jack Wilson and Ben Walker have also signed for the Wells and a number of last season’s squad have re-signed.
