Star striker James Walshaw has chosen to leave Scarborough Athletic to join their NPL Premier Division rivals Buxton.
Walshaw, who joined the Seadogs from Farsley Celtic in 2017, has been their top goal-scorer for the past two seasons.
The former Ossett Town and Guiseley forward had agreed to play for Scarborough when Non League Football returns, but he has had a heart of change.
Boro boss Darren Kelly told Scarborough’s website: “I got a message from Wally this afternoon and he told me that he was leaving for personal reasons.”
Walshaw has arguably been the best Yorkshire-based forward of the past decade as his goals record from spells with the likes of Guiseley, FC Halifax, Shaw Lane, Farsley and Scarborough is phenomenal.
