Double promotion winner Wayne Brooksby has joined Pickering Town after leaving Scarborough Athletic.
The colours of Pickering are familiar to him as he once turned out for them during Mitch Cook’s first tenure in charge ten years ago.
Brooksby was a North Ferriby player at the time and he became a club hero as he scored the opener in their 2016 National North play off final which saw Ferriby beat AFC Fylde to win promotion.
A year earlier he played in Guiseley’s National North play-off final victory at Chorley.
In more recent times Brooksby has belonged to Harrogate Town, Bradford (Park Avenue) and Scarborough Athletic.
Pickering manager Steve Roberts told the club’s website: “I am delighted to welcome Wayne to the club. Working with him at Scarborough I know the quality that he will bring to the team .
“He has so much ability and can unlock teams with his vision. His playing CV speaks for itself and he is key for us to move forward as a football club.
“I am so pleased to have him commit to Pickering for the coming season. He will make us stronger as a group and I know the positive affect that he will have on the whole club.”
