Adam Priestley made an international appearance for Gibraltar in their historic friendly with Slovakia, writes James Grayson (Twitter: @jamesAgrayson).
The Farsley AFC striker played most of the game and also had Gibraltar’s best chance in the 0-0 draw which took place in Portugal.
The match was Gibraltar’s first International encounter since being granted UEFA membership and Priestley qualifies through having been born in the country.
Brian Close, chairman of Garforth Town, the club who Priestley played for between 2010 and 2012, said: “We’re really proud as a club that he played for Gibraltar.
“We always watch the progress of our former players and I’m pleased for Adam.
“He’s one of the nicest players we have ever had at the club and he deserves all the success he can get.
“Playing for Gibraltar is a big opportunity for him and I’m glad it worked out for him last night.”
