Super substitute Mike Fish scored late as Golcar United completed back-to-back North West Counties League Division One North wins with the incredible 3-2 midweek victory at AFC Darwen.
Golcar had raced into a 2-0 lead through Alex Hallam and a Dan Stocker penalty. But their strong position altered as defender Kieran Lawrence was red carded for a handball on the goal-line.
The resulting penalty was actually saved, but a foul in the aftermath saw another spot kick awarded and that was duly scored.
By half-time Darwen were level and it became even more difficult in the second half when one of the Golcar players was sin-binned for ten minutes.
They got through that period with nine men and it was left to Mossley legend Fish’s 88th minute winner to grab the three points.
On Saturday, Golcar won 3-0 at Atherton LR thanks to Ben Burnett, Lee Bradshaw and Matthew Stor.
