Leon Howarth headed Handsworth to a dramatic and last gasp 3-2 victory at Thackley – two minutes after Matt Broadley thought he had rescued a point for the home side.
The topsy-turvy clash saw Thackley draw first blood through Ben Grech-Brooksbank’s first half penalty.
The lead lasted until the stroke of the interval when Oscar Radford smashed home a free kick – his second goal in just two games for Handsworth.
Bailey Hobson’s header put Russ Eagle’s side ahead for the first time and that looked like the winner until Broadley popped up with the leveller.
But Handsworth were not to be denied as Callum Walton broke down the right and crossed for Howarth to leap and score.
Thackley then had James Rothel sent off for the second successive game.
Talent Ndlovu’s first half penalty was the difference as Eccleshill United beat Hemsworth Miners Welfare. The spot kick was Eccleshill’s second of the game as Wells goalkeeper Brett Souter saved an early Somali Cissa penalty.
Bridlington Town moved to within a point of leaders Yorkshire Amateur thanks to the 8-1 defeat of Athersley Rec who were reduced to ten men at one stage after Innocent Huly was sent off.
Tom Waudby’s hat-trick, plus an own goal and strikes from Chris Adams, Joe McFadyen, Billy Logan and Danny Earl did the damage for Brid.
Jack Bennett was the Rec’s goal-scorer.
Albion Sports lost 2-0 at Grimsby Borough and Knaresbrough Town were beaten 3-0 by Staveley Miners Welfare at Manse Lane.
