Jordan Stocks has been forced to resign as manager of Swallownest after three years in charge.
Stocks has been unable to attend home matches since the start of the season because of a dispute with the trustees of the Miners Welfare, the owners of Swallownest’s ground, following a fall-out at a training session in the summer.
The trustees banned him from the premises and it first publicly came to light when Stocks was pictured in the bushes outside the ground watching Swallownest’s FA Vase win over Ashton Town in September.
The unresolved long-running stand-off has led to him offering his resignation which has been reluctantly accepted by the football club.
His departure brings to an end a solid chapter in Swallownest’s history – a period that began when he moved away from playing to replace Lee Needham and Tom Hague during the club’s first ever season at Step 6.
Chairman Mick Kent said: “Today is a sad day. Jordan has a real genuine love for the club and has given us his all in the five years as a player and then as manager.
“We have been fortunate to have the services of an excellent manager who has built a strong young squad. All at the club really appreciate all he has done, and we wish him well going forward.”
