The FA have said socially-distanced spectators are allowed back into grassroots grounds from the 12th April as long as there is no changes to the government’s ‘roadmap’.
There is no confirmation over permitted capacity numbers though or if this applies to Steps 3 to 6 clubs who want to play matches in April and May.
The FA have confirmed that no spectators are allowed at matches between the 29th March and 12th April.
Changing rooms are not allowed to be open between those dates either.
The ‘ball game’ is aimed to be changed on the 12th with the return of spectators, plus clubs allowed to serve outdoor food and drink. Changing rooms can also open then – with the strict covid-19 protocols in place.
It is certainly a step in the right direction.
Brighouse Town are overseeing the running of the Yorkshire Cup which involves 12 teams.
That competition could now go ahead if the rules about spectators apply to Steps 3 to 6 clubs.
