Armthorpe Welfare manager Lee Morris has made five top summer signings, including former Worsbrough Bridge pair Jack Mawson and Jack Wilson.
Worsbrough stalwart Mawson ends his long association with the Park Road to club to front up Armthorpe’s attack and link up with his former boss.
Midfielder destroyer Wilson has recently moved to North Yorkshire and he drops down a Division to sign for Welfare in the Toolstation NCEL Division One having played for Hemsworth Miners Welfare last season. He is a well-regarded player who is very versatile. He was a key part of the Worsbrough side which finished seventh in Division One under Morris in 2019.
His Hemsworth colleague Matty Hughes, the highly-rated winger, also moves from Fitzwilliam to Armthorpe.
On the defensive front, Morris has tempted centre-back Owen Fieldsend to leave EV2 Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League giants Swinton Athletic and have another go at NCEL football. He has previously played for Parkgate and Nostell at this level.
The final signing is goalkeeper Seb Tylek who has experience of playing for the likes of Frome Town and Melksham Town.
All five are impressive captures and it bodes well for Armthorpe ahead of the new campaign.
