Silsden strengthen attack with top quartet

New Silsden striker Joe Jagger

Former Brighouse Town striker Joe Jagger is one of a quartet of new star strikers that Silsden have signed this summer.

The highly-sought-after powerful front-man has joined Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Silsden from Campion.

Jagger played for Brighouse and Liversedge in the early 2010s before taking a break from the Non League game to play for local Step 7 side Littletown.

He stepped back into Non League in 2019 with Harrogate Railway where he immediately became their top-goal-scorer.

He left them to return to Brighouse in the Northern Premier League before moving to Campion.

Forward Mohammed Qasim also arrives from Campion and comes with a ever-increasing reputation after his great performances for the Manningham Mills-based club.

Former Thackley striker Jack Normanton has signed for Silsden. He had a great goal record with Thackley and he briefly played for Ossett United last year.

Three other new signings are former Silsden players.

Goalkeeper Sam Lee is back with Silsden after a stint with Knaresborough Town as are midfielder Kyle Hancock and striker Khurram Shazad.

Silsden’s attack is certainly not short of options.

Garforth Town striker Mark Simpson is staying with Silsden after successful spell with Danny Forrest’s men towards the end of the curtailed 2020/21 campaign.

Simpson, still a young man, scored 100 goals for Garforth in a just a few seasons and remains a lethal forward in the NCEL.

Craig Billington and Chris Wademan are also front-men.

Captain Josh Kaine has signed on, but is facing an extended spell on the side-lines due to long-term injury along with Carlton Pownall.

Matty Moses returns to Silsden after 24 months away because of a serious injury.

The rest of the list is made up of:

Connor Thompson, Dan Illingworth, Shaun Airey, Arley Barnes, Joe Mitchell, Mark Everingham, Liam Hudson, Harry Thompson, Harry Parsons and Paul Day.
