Mike Jepps scored twice as Worsbrough Bridge’s promising start to the new campaign continued with a sixth win out of eight league fixtures.

Luke Forgione’s fledglings beat Glasshoughton Welfare 4-1 at Park Road.

Rome wasn’t built in a day but Worsbrough have to be happy with the start to the season and they picked up where they left off ten days ago.

Captain Conor Glavin haunted his former club with the 28th minute opener.

Lewis O’Connor doubled the lead early in the second half before Jepps put the result beyond doubt with a late double.

Welfare debutant Dylan Drovi scored a consolation goal.

Hallam hat-trick hero Liam Royles

An incredible crowd of 605 watched rampant Hallam win 7-1 against Shirebrook Town at Sandygate.

Liam Royles got a hat-trick again, Chris Wood scored two and Iren Wilson and Rhys Davies got one one-a-piece.

Hemsworth defender Tom Cadzow getting to grips with Calum Ward in a recent fixture

Manager-less Hemsworth Miners Welfare were cruelly denied their first win of the campaign after Grimsby Borough fought back to win 4-3.

Connor Brunt (2) and Tom Cadzow had put Hemsworth on course at half-time as the Wells led 3-1.

But the game unravelled on the hour mark and Grimsby nicked the winner in the 79th minute.

League Cup First Round 

Second half goals from Harvey Carew, Niall Tilsley, Harry Fenton and Joel Shortland earned North Ferriby their 4-0 win over Selby Town.
