North West Counties League First Division North (Yorkshire) Round-Up
Roy Mason’s Steeton surrendered a 3-0 lead but managed to win 5-3 at Daisy Hill.
In an unbelievable 30 minute spell, Steeton took full advantage, opening the scoring after two minutes through popular midfielder Luke Baldwin at the back-post.
Baldwin was involved again for the second goal as his punt set the in-form Kayle Price away.
Baldwin’s corner helped add the third.
The ball was headed down by Ben Kendall and Tom Robinson smashed the ball home.
Daisy Hill were level by the hour but on 63 minutes Price broke the offside trap to go through and score to put Steeton back in front.
Debutant Jacob Holdgate then supplied the ball from which Josh McKiernon fired in from 30 yards to make it 5-3.
Campion earned a credible 1-1 draw with play-offs chasing Pilkington at home.
Pilkington took a tenth minute lead but Nicky Boshell’s wind-assisted corner found the net in the 25th minute to level matters.
Golcar United came unstuck for only the second time this season in the league as they lost 4-1 at AFC Blackpool.
Daniel Naidole actually gave Golcar the lead seven minutes before half-time but the game unravelled before half-time as Blackpool bounced back to lead 2-1.
A goal after half-time and one late-on sealed Golcar’s win.
