Loan star Rob Guilfoyle enjoyed a dream debut for Pontefract Collieries as his two goals propelled them to a much-needed victory.

Guilfoyle joined on a month’s loan from Bradford (Park Avenue) and his contribution slayed North East giants Hebburn Town at Beechnut Lane.

The striker leapt to send a looping header into the far corner of the goal to break the deadlock in the 33rd minute.

Joao Rangel played his part in the second goal midway through the second half.

He won the ball back and he set Guilfoyle away and the new Colls hero coolly finish.

Predictiably, there had to be late drama as Michael Richardson gave Hebburn late hope.

The Colls had to survive five additional minutes but it was worth it in the end.
