Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup Quarter-Finals
Nostell Miners Welfare 2-3 Maltby Main
Reggie Waud’s quick-fire first half double helped Maltby Main reach the semi-finals of the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup.
Waud struck twice inside the last ten minutes of the first stanza.
It was Alex Hardwick’s cross that he converted for the opener.
Recent signing Cameron Hough was the provider of the season goal – Waud met his cross with a header that crashed in off the bar.
Nostell fought back at the beginning of the second half.
Young Liam Ormsby raced through to score from Alex Haigh’s defence-splitting ball.
An own goal from Nostell captain Joe O’Neill restored Maltby’s two-goal advantage.
But that didn’t last long as Ormsby scored again to set up a nervy finale which saw Maltby hang on.
