Aidan Smith has signed for Worsbrough Bridge to compete with Ross Pritchard for the goalkeeper shirt.

Young Smith joins just over 24 hours before scheduled home clash with promotion-chasing Brigg Town.

The former Armthorpe Welfare stopper started the season at FC Humber United before moving onto Selby Town.

He played four times for Christian Fox.

“He is another talented young player who fits into our recruitment strategy,” Luke Forgione told Worsbrough’s website.

“We believe we now have two of the best young goalkeepers in the league on their day.

“Both Aidan and Ross (Pritchard) will be competing for the number 1 jersey at the club and I am sure both lads will be pushing to be the number 1 keeper for the club.

“I am confident this signing will help Ross and Aidan in their development.

“It is a sign of how far we have come as a club that we can now get players from clubs such as Selby Town to come and play their football at Worsbrough Bridge AFC.”
