Farsley Celtic manager Neil Ross has signed a young Oldham Athletic defender on loan for a month.

Wil Sutton joins in time for the big local derby with Guiseley on Boxing Day.

“Getting Will in was a big thing for me this week,” Ross told Non League Yorkshire.

“We have managed to do that now.

“He is a young lad but he has already been around the first team at Oldham and speaking to the guys there they say he has real potential.

“It will be good to get him playing games and getting experience.”

Sutton recently spent four months on loan at Witton Albion and Ross hinted that there could be further additions.

“It depends how the covid cases go but we are always looking to strengthen the squad,” he said.

“We’ll just have to see on that.”

Farsley have received a blow as goalkeeper Tom Donaghy has been recalled from his loan spell by Fleetwood Town.

The young stopper made 15 appearances for the Celts.

Under 23s players Matty Ingham and Majed Alasttal have both signed non-contract terms after making their first team debuts in the last week.
