NPL Division One East
Pickering Town midfielder Sam Barker has earned himself a move to title-chasing North East giants Shildon.
Shildon have played against Barker twice this season – once for Garforth Town and once for Pickering this season and their manager Daniel Moore has been impresed with him.
His departure is a huge blow to struggling Pickering who head into another six-pointer on Saturday when they host Tadcaster Albion.
His Pickering legacy is his four-goal haul in the 4-1 win over Sheffield FC in November.
Moore said: “Sam has been a player who has been on our radar for a while now. His attributes are something we have been looking to add to the squad since the summer.
“He is a young hungry player that has the desire to play at the highest level and has attracted interest from teams higher up the pyramid.
“I’m delighted he has joined us and have no doubt that he will be a success at the football club”
