NPL Division One East
Key Frickley Athletic defender Brad Beatson has joined Jas Colliver’s Ossett United.
Beatson has been one of Frickley’s best players this season and his exit is the latest in a long line of blows for Dave Frecklington.
Another of influential defenders – Danny Burns – left for Worksop Town on Boxing Day.
Beatson is the third player to join Ossett since the arrival of Colliver and assistant Mark Ward behind striker Charlie Wood and Ify Ofoegbu.
Colliver told Ossett’s website: “Brad was a target of mine and other step three clubs in the summer but due to the travelling he didn’t want to commit to me.
“As soon as we accepted the job I thought of Brad straight away, Brad is a good age with experience of this level and above.
“Brad will add leadership to our young team but first and foremost he’s coming in to defend and hopefully help keep more clean sheets.”
Loan players Max Dearnley (Huddersfield Town) and Reon Potts (York City) have gone back to their respective clubs.
Ossett host Dunston on Saturday, hoping to record a third straight victory.
