Division One East

Brighouse Town hero Shiraz Khan

Shiraz Khan was Brighouse Town’s hero after scoring the late winner in the memorable 1-0 win at play-offs chasing Worksop Town.

The match was fizzling into a goal-less until the 82nd minute.

Laurence Sorhaindo had a shot blocked on the line by former Frickley Athletic defender Danny Burns but Khan was there to grab the headlines.

Craig Rouse’s Pontefract Collieries picked up a crucial 2-0 win at Tadcaster Albion.

The victory ends a run of three defeats.

The second half is where it all happened.

Joe Lumsden scored his first goal since returning to Ponte – scoring a header against his former side.

Strike-partner Luke Hinsley added the second goal and Jack Greenhough’s long throw sailed to the back-post.

Yorkshire Amateur midfielder Luke Sharry

Luke Sharry scored a rare double as Yorkshire Amateur overcome nine man Frickley Athletic in a 4-1 win at Westfield Lane.

Battling Frickley pushed the Ammers all the way despite their numerical disadvantage and they even took the lead in the sixth minute.

Devonte Morton headed in Tyler Williams’ free kick.

The red card for Keegan Everington put Frickley’s position in jeopardy and the Ammers soon levelled from a Nathan Cartman penalty.

Luke Dean’s wind-assisted goal placed the Ammers ahead in the second half.

Sharry scored a header for number three.

After Joe Stacey was helped off, leaving Frickley with nine men, Sharry scored with an effort from distance.

Ross Goodwin scored for Stocksbridge

Stocksbridge Park Steels were beaten 2-1 at Marske United.

Ross Goodwin brought Stocksbridge level at one stage.

Pickering Town lost 2-0 at play-offs hopefuls Cleethorpes Town while Bridlington Town were defeated 3-0 at Hebburn Town.

Premier Division

Scarborough Athletic drew 2-2 at Witton Albion – Luca Colville and Jake Day scored.
