NPL Division One East Round-Up (1)

Pontefract Collieries forward Luke Hinsley

Luke Hinsley fired Pontefract Collieries to a magnificent 1-0 win over promotion-chasing Shildon at Beechnut Lane.

The former Frickley Athletic striker was presented with a far post tap-in after fantastic work from Joe Lumsden down the right in the 70th minute.

Even though Scott Smith’s red card for a bad challenge did place their lead in jeopardy, Craig Rouse’s men defended heroically to hold on.

Goalkeeper Lloyd Allinson also made a match-winning save in the final minute.

The priceless victory gives the Colls a nice buffer between them and the relegation zone.

Ossett United striker James Walshaw

James Walshaw scored the late equaliser for Ossett United in the 1-1 draw with basement side Pickering Town.

Jamie Thompson gave Pickering a first half lead which they held for a considerable period of time.
