Harrogate Railway manager Mick O’Connell has wished Ollie Norman all the best after the young starlet moved back to Bradford City.

Norman was released by the Bantams in the summer but he has returned to them on a deal until the end of the season.

Railway signed him from Tadcaster Albion earlier in the summer.

“He came into us from Tadcaster having not got any minutes there,” O’Connell told Non League Yorkshire.

“It took him a couple of weeks to adapt but he took his chance and he’s looked really bright and lively.

“It is going to have a knock-on effort for us as it will leave us a bit light in that area but it is great for Ollie that he has a chance to get back into the professional game.

“He has to go and give it a go and try really hard between now and the end of the season to try earn himself another deal for next season.

“Like I said to him if it doesn’t work out he can back to us in pre-season.”

O’Connell has no irons in fire on the signing front at the moment and says he is already thinking about next season.

“We’re not actively looking for players we have a lot of trust and faith in the players we have got,” he said.

“But not withstanding that, if a player presented himself and he was better than what we have got then we’d 100% have a look at him.

“Recruitment, in terms of for next season, we have already started the ball rolling.

“We haven’t spoken to players but we have drawn up a shortlist of players, some experienced, some young, who we are going to try and bring in for next season.

“We don’t want to standstill and let teams improve around us.

“Whether we get in the playoffs or not, whether we go up or stay where we are, we feel we have to improve for next season.”
