Stancliffe wins permanent Maltby post

Maltby Main manager John Stancliffe

Maltby Main have handed John Stancliffe the manager’s job on a permanent basis.

Stancliffe was put in interim charge for the rest of the season a few weeks ago after Louis Axcell’s surprise axing.

Stancliffe has taken control of four games since and clearly the club feel he is the right man for the long-term after making an early decision.

A statement said: “Stan took over at the end of January and we feel he will be the right person and best way forward for the players and club during the remainder of this season and then next season when he will begin his first full campaign in charge.

“The senior committee have worked extremely close with John over the last four weeks to get to today.

“Hard work with the squad off the field; bringing in new faces that need some stability to settle in with him; along with his future ideas have been recognised and he can now be rewarded with the job full time. “
