Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915 served up one of their best performances of the season by stunning title hopefuls Penistone Church Reserves in a 3-0 win.

Jacob Rickards, Carlton Carty and Luke Beedham scored the goals.

The superb win lifts Jon Wragg’s side to third and only five points behind leaders Swinton Athletic.

Their title hopes are in the unlikely bracket as they have played far more games than everyone else.

Jonathan Billups’ hat-trick helped Swinton get past High Green Villa in the 4-2 win.

Justin Greenwood also netted for the league leaders who lost striker Danny Barlow to Dodworth Miners Welfare in midweek.
