Walshaw double downs Frickley

Northern Premier League Round-Up

Division One East

Ossett United striker James Walshaw

James Walshaw showed his predatory skills by scoring two late goals to earn ten man Ossett United a 4-2 win over Frickley Athletic.

The finish must have stunned Frickley as they were 2-0 up after 53 minutes against ten men as Ossett’s Aaron Haswell had been sent off.

James Matthews and Brad Wells had put Frickley in control.

But then Ify Ofoegbu, Oliver Metcalfe turned the game on its head and Walshaw put the icing on the cake.

Yorkshire Amateur striker Roy Fogarty thought he had won the game for his side

Jamie Thornton showed nerves of steel after netting a last minute penalty to earn Pickering Town a precious point from the 3-3 draw with Yorkshire Amateur.

There will have been disappointment as the Pikes had led 2-0 through Billy Logan and Wayne Brooksby.

Luke Sharry, Nathan Cartman and Roy Fogarty responded in the second half.

New Liversedge striker Declan Bacon

Liversedge kept the heat on leaders Marske United with an impressive 4-0 win at Dunston.

Declan Bacon scored twice, with Joe Walton and Lewis Whitham chipping in with the extras.

Bridlington Town and Stocksbridge Park Steels battled out a goal-less draw.

Tadcaster Albion lost 3-0 to Shildon.
