Garforth Town are back in the NCEL League Cup after Penistone Church were removed

Garforth Town have long since forgotten about the League Cup but now they’re back in it as Penistone Church have been removed from the competition for playing an illegible player.

The news comes a week after Church won their quarter-final tie at Bottesford Town to book a last four battle with Premier Division champions Grimsby Borough.

The Garforth-Penistone League Cup clash took place in January and Church won 3-1.

The messy situation means Garforth will now visit Bottesford on Saturday 16th April.

Let’s the Garforth and Bottesford players haven’t booked any holidays as the two clubs finish their seasons in the next week.
