Billy Miller believes Harrogate Railway will have recovered from the 7-1 defeat at Darlington 1883 by the time Warrington Town have arrived at Station View tomorrow.
Shaun Reid will bring his side to Harrogate for the Evo Stik Division One North clash and Miller is adamant that they will welcome them with the right mindset.
He said: “I don’t think having to pick the players up is the problem any more.
“Picking ourselves up is quite easy because we have a good set of lads – and honest lads.
“I know we have lost Lamin (Colley), but Malachi (Farquarson) has come in and did really well for us at Warrington.
“For the rest of them, there is such a togetherness that we are not threatened by anyone.
“People know we have not got the greatest budget, but at the end of the day the lads play (for us) because of the environment which is created for them.”
Miller does concede that Warrington continues the theme of October being a hard month of fixtures.
“It will be really difficult tomorrow because Reidy gets them up for it,” he said.
“He is a great character in the league. The league is great for going against people like Reidy and Martin Gray.
“For us as a young team and me as a manager it will be a great opportunity to mix it up again and make one or two changes.
“Hopefully Adam Baker will be back this week and we’ll go again.
“October is going to be a difficult month. We have Warrington and then we go to Ossett Albion which again will be difficult.
“We then have Spennymoor in the Trophy so it is a really difficult couple of weeks for us.’
If there was one positive that Railway could take from the defeat at Darlington then it was the second half appearance of youngster Dan Hickey.
The Askham Bryan College student did play a few games at the end of last season, but this was a chance to appear in front of over 700 people.
Miller said: “It wasn’t so great for us, but it was great that we were able to bring the young lad Dan Hickey on.
“He’s on the scholarship scheme we have going at Askham Bryan College.
“If you ask him what it was like, he will say it was brilliant, irrespective of the score.”
