Simon Parkes has been announced as Knaresborough Town’s new manager.
Parkes, the former Harrogate Railway combative midfielder who was Rob Hunter’s assistant, will joined at the helm by number two Colin Heath, the former Manchester United striker.
Parkes and Heath have held the interim managers role in recent weeks following Hunter’s exit.
A statement said: “Knaresborough Town are pleased to confirm that Simon Parkes has accepted the role of First Team Manager on a permanent basis along with Colin Heath as Assistant Manager.
“Simon has been interim manager since the departure of Rob Hunter and has overseen 3 games in that time which includes last weekends victory against Barton Town alongside draws against Thackley and Sherwood Colliery.
“Colin Heath has been a player at the club for several years and has recently been a part of the management team under Paul Stansfield and Rob Hunter before becoming interim assistant manager to Simon.
“This is an exciting appointment for the club as both Simon and Colin look to start building for the new season in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division.
“The club will make any further announcements in due course.”
