Avenue are safe after stalemate with Guiseley

National North

Bradford (Park Avenue)

Bradford (Park Avenue) secured their National North status after the 0-0 draw with increasingly relegation-threatened Guiseley.

Basement side Guiseley could still catch up with Avenue but Mark Bower’s men have a far superior goals difference which only an unprecedented run of results would overturn.

Avenue should be really proud of their achievement as they were tipped by many for relegation.

Despite limited resources, Bower has guided them to safety relatively comfortably.

Farsley Celtic look primed to follow in their footsteps as Russ Willcox’s men beat play-offs chasing Southport 2-0.

Two second half penalties from Frank Mulhern and Will Hayhurst earned Farsley their win.

York City lost 3-0 at Alfreton Town.

FC Halifax Town strengthened their hold on the prized third play-offs with the late 2-0 win over rivals Chesterfield at The Shay.

Jordan Slew and Matty Warburton hit the precious goals.
