National North
Promoted York City have captured a striker from a leading National League club.
Striker Scott Boden is John Askey’s first signing of the summer.
Boden played under the Askey at Macclesfield Town and he joins York after his release from Boreham Wood.
Boden told York’s website: “It ticked every single box for me. The Manager knows me inside out and I can’t wait to get going.
“He (The Manager) didn’t need to sell the club to me, I’ve been close to coming before and I’m local from Sheffield so I know the size of the club and hopefully what we can do here.
“You can tell around the place, the [good] atmosphere, everyone is friendly and everyone is positive and that can only hopefully steer us in one direction.
“I’d put myself down as a clever player in and around the box. I try and sniff things out and like any striker try and put pressure on myself to score goals more than anything.”
