Eccleshill United have acted quickly to appoint Lee Elam’s successor.
Former FC Halifax Town full-back Ryan Toulson has taken the post of player/manager.
He leaves his position as first team coach at Bradford (Park Avenue) to become a number one for the first time.
A statement said: “Ryan is very highly regarded and has a wealth of experience having played for FC Halifax Town, Guiseley and Bradford (Park Avenue).
“Ryan was the outstanding candidate to take up the position vacated by former manager Lee Elam.
“For the last few seasons he has assisted the management team at National North club Bradford (Park Avenue) in a player/coach capacity.
“We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to BPA for their co-operation in agreeing to release him to take up his new role with immediate effect.
“The club officials welcome Ryan to our club and wish him every success in the future.
“Further announcements will be made in the next few days with regards to appointment of Ryan’s assistants.”
Toulson has been with Eccleshill before as he played for them in 2019.
Mark Bower told Avenue’s website:: “I am really pleased for Tully that he has been offered this opportunity and he leaves with our best wishes.
“He has been a loyal and committed part of our backroom team for several years now and he will be missed.
“This has all come about very quickly, as can often be the case with these appointments, but we have begun to look at options to step in to Tully’s role and hope to have someone in place for pre season training.”
