Toolstation NCEL Division One
Newly-promoted Horbury Town have welcomed two new faces to their squad as they prepare for their historic first season at Step 6.
Goalkeeper Elliott Lightowler and striker Sam Awty have got the chance to play NCEL again.
Both lads played in Horbury’s 1-0 defeat at Swallownest in the Yorkshire Trophy.
Lightowler has previously had time with Harrogate Railway and Campion while Awty is an ex-Shelley and Eccleshill United player.
Darren Barnes said: “Sam is a player we’ve looked at ever since our game against Shelley in the cup. Not only does he work hard for the team, his technical ability is great and will only get better.
“Ell suits our style of play – great with his feet and his distribution is excellent.
“Both players are fantastic additions to the squad who have both had a taste at this level and also are excited by the clubs plans and ambitions.”
Joe Penn, James Wilson, Luke Playford, Jake Kelly, Joe Booth, Ewan Broadbent, Saif Akbar and Finn Ellis have committed to staying with Horbury.
