Ex-Ossett ‘keeper signs for Farsley

New Farsley Celtic goalkeeper Max Dearnley

Farsley Celtic have landed their goalkeeper for the season and he’s formerly of Ossett United and Penistone Church.

Max Dearnley solves one of Russ Wilcox’s pre-season dilemma by filling a void with just over a week to go until the new season.

Russ Wilcox told Farsley’s website: “We’ve known about Max for a while through Tom Morgan, so credit to Tom regarding that.

“We eventually got him in Saturday on a trial and he blew us away, to be honest, so it was imperative we got him signed.

“I think it’s really good to have your own goalkeeper personally, we had loan goalkeepers which were great last season, Dave Robson was outstanding for us, but you always worry as a manager that they’ll be recalled.

“Having our own goalkeeper now, who’s under contract for the season, is fantastic for the football club.”
