Two Dom Tear goals in the final four minutes incredibly snatched a 2-2 draw for Scarborough Athletic and deny Bradford (Park Avenue) their first win of the campaign.
Avenue had been cruising to victory. Jamie Spencer had scored one of Avenue’s best goals in recent memory in the sixth minute when he lobbed Scarborough goalkeeper Joe Crackell from just inside’s the host’s half.
Sheffield United loanee Andre Brooks was a constant menace for the Seadogs and he doubled Avenue’s lead early in the second half with a shot into the bottom corner.
The game looked over until an explosion of drama in the 86th minute.
Tear volleyed into the top corner for Scarborough’s first goal.
A drama then in injury-time led to Tear sparking scenes of uncontrolled joy.
More woe followed for Avenue following the final whistle as Spencer was sent off following a kerfuffle.
Farsley Celtic went down 2-1 to title favourites AFC Fylde at The Citadel.
Frank Mulhern scored Farsley’s goal.
FC Halifax Town drew 0-0 with Southend United in the National League.
