Wakefield were trailing until the 63rd minute as Lawrence Heward had given Brigg an early lead.
Cory Woodward equalised before Stubbs made himself the hero.
Horbury Town’s incredible start continued as they won 5-2 at Swallownest.
Abdul Asamoah scored twice.

Josimar Bradshaw scored a last minute equaliser for Silsden in the 2-2 draw with Hemsworth Miners Welfare.
Arley Barnes scored a both ends as he put Hemsworth ahead with an own goal in the second minute.
He redeemed himself by scoring the leveller two minutes in the second half.
Charlie Barks’ stunner looked to have won it for Hemsworth until Bradshaw intervened.
Javan Benjamin rescued a draw for Knaresborough Town in the 1-1 draw at Goole AFC.
Benjamin struck in the 89th minute to cancel out Callum Petch’s goal.
