Super-sub Paddy Sykes produced a masterclass in finishing as he scored twice late-on to pull Campion out of the fire and secure them a 3-2 victory over bottom-side Parkgate.
Unbeaten Campion were staring down the barrel of their first league defeat of the campaign when Parkgate, who have only won once in 15 attempts in the league, raced into a 2-0 lead.
Ross Duggan’s penalty and Alex Hardwick’s finish put the visitors in control.
Prolific midfielder Danny Keane brought Campion back to life with a finish from a corner close to half-time.
Sykes replaced Ash Flynn midway through the second half and immediately had a impact with a rocket that levelled the game.
Sykes nearly scored again soon after but the Parkgate goalkeeper Jordan Greaves made a terrific save.
Joe Colley also went close.
Sykes then won it with an incredible first time volley.
One further blow for Parkgate was dismissal of Duggan in added time.
Runaway leaders Campion have won 12 games out of 13, drawing the other and they now have a six point lead on Horbury Town who have played two games more.
Third-placed Harrogate Railway have played one game less and are 11 points behind.
