Penistone Church Reserves attacker Ryan Hallsworth

Penistone Church Reserves are the new leaders of the Premier Division after their 2-0 victory in the derby clash at Stocksbridge Park Steels Reserves.

Alfie Broughton and Ryan Hallsworth ensured Church took full advantage of the week’s watery conditions postponing the titanic battle between previous top two Dodworth Miners Welfare and Hepworth United.

Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915 are off the bottom as they won 2-1 in the battle of the winless sides at South Kirkby Colliery.

Joe Wilson got the two precious goals for Chris Rix’s side.

Young starlet Bailey Cowsell is back playing for Wombwell Main and he returned with a back

Striker Bailey Cowsell bounced back into Wombwell Main like an excited schoolboy as he hit two goals in the 2-2 draw at Swinton Athletic.

Cowsell has returned from a brief sojourn at Dodworth Miners Welfare and his double appeared to have secured all three points until Nathan Walsh equalised late on for Swinton.

Curtis Wilkinson was Swinton’s other goal-scorer.

Wombwell Town manager Karl Rose

Karl Rose’s Wombwell Town lost 3-2 to a late goal in an ill-tempered clash at Sheffield Town.

Luke Haslam and Joe Egan struck for Wombwell who had Joe Griggs sent off.

Sheffield also finished with ten men.
