NPL Division One East
Jack Shepherd provided the killer blow as Pontefract Collieries staged one of their most memorable comebacks in the 3-2 win at Stockton Town.
The Colls had a mountain to climb at half-time as they found themselves 2-0 down to the league’s second-placed side.
Jack Vann began the fight-back with an effort from distance straight after the interval.
A penalty midway through the second half allowed Gavin Rothery to fire Craig Rouse’s side level.
If that wasn’t enough excitement, Shepherd leapt to head home the winner in the final ten minutes.
Stockton’s discipline then deteriorated as Dale Mulligan saw red for his wild lunge on Joe Lumsden.
The result gets Ponte back within touching distance of the play-offs and helps unstoppable leaders Worksop Town move closer to winning the title in record time.
