Salford City 1-4 Harrogate Railway

Harrogate Railway pulled off the result of the day with a remarkable 4-1 win at Evo Stik Division One North title favourites Salford City.
Red hot Nathan Cartman was again the main hero with a sensational hat-trick which further cements his place at the top of the goal-scorers list.
Salford, whose takeover by the Class’ of ’92 and billionaire Peter Lim was confirmed this week, were blew away in the first half by Railway.
Malachi Farquharson gave Railway the lead and Cartman had ensured that the visitors were 3-0 up by the half-hour mark.
Cartman completed his treble early in the second half and Salford’s goal came from a last minute consolation.

Farsley AFC 4-0 Ossett Albion (report by Thomas Ritchie)

Farsley AFC continued their playoff push with a 4-0 win at home against local rivals Ossett Albion.
Ossett had the first chance of the game when Ross Hardaker crossed for ex-Farsley player Adam Muller who shot just over the bar. Farsley almost scored minutes later when academy graduate Kyle Hancock’s free kick was headed inches wide by Aiden Savory.
Hancock had the chance to score himself just minutes later when his shot was comfortably saved by Brett Souter, after being teed up by Robbie O’Brien.
Farsley took the lead just before the half hour mark when Lewis Trice headed into his own net at the back post, following a Lewis Nightingale corner. Darol Lucas had Ossett’s best chance of the game when his shot from the edge of the area went for a corner following a fingertip save from Tom Taylor.
Midway through the second half Farsley scored twice in two minutes, the first being a superb curling effort from Savory before Nightingale slipped in O’Brien who finished in to the far corner.
Luke Porritt had a chance to make it 4-0 when he fired just wide from the edge of the box.
Farsley did go 4-0 up however, when Ossett scored a comical own goal. Ossett player-chairman headed the ball over his own onrushing keeper Souter from edge of the box, to round off a good day at the office for Farsley.

Mossley 2-3 Brighouse Town

Paul Quinn celebrated a hard-fought win at one of his old stomping grounds.

Ernest Boafo got two and supplied the assist for Brighouse’s second goal – which was scored by .

Town had led 2-0 at one stage, but Mossley responded in the second half to put the game back in the balance.

Brighouse held their nerve as Boafo added a third with ten minutes to go before an even later Mossley goal made life nervy for the home side.

Ossett Town 2-1 Lancaster City

A late Ossett Town penalty helped secure a crucial victory in the roses clash against Lancaster City.
With the scores tied at 1-1 and with time running out, substitute Chris Wood came off the bench and converted a 78th minute penalty to end Town’s unwanted run of four games without a win.
Town had taken the lead midway through the first-half when Ross Armstrong converted Steven Jeff’s inviting cross, but were pegged back just before the break when Sam Bailey’s low cross drifted into the path of Billy Akrigg who bundled the ball home.
After latching onto Town debutant Sam Ackroyd’s low drive, Wood was upended by visiting keeper Michael Hale but dusted himself down and slotted in his seventh goal of the campaign.

Carlton Town 2-0 Stocksbridge Park Steels

Stocksbridge wasted a string of chances in their defeat at Carlton.
After missing a number of opportunities, against the run of play Carlton took the lead on 17 minutes after Brendon Cardwell had the ball robbed off him by Aaron Hooton.
Hooton sent Lee Potts through on goal to slide the ball around Liam Flynn into the bottom corner.
The second half continued in a similar fashion with Steels doing everything but score and being denied by some desperate Carlton defending.
Carlton broke down the other end towards the end whilst Steels were appealing for a penalty.
A swift attack by the Carlton forwards was finished by Hootonending any Steels hopes of any points.
