Tadcaster Albion steamed into the FA Vase fourth round with a straightforward 4-2 win at St Helen’s Town.
The road to Wembley is opening up for Taddy, who are one of the favourites to win the competition outright.
The job was done by the hour mark after Nick Thompson, Denny Ingram and Josh Greening (2) had scored.
Tadcaster Paul Marshall said: “We didn’t play brilliantly, but we scored some good quality goals which was the difference between the two teams.
“We looked at set-plays and we got a couple of good goals from them. Thommo worked the first goal from one and finished with his left-foot.
“It set us on our way and they were quite lively and energetic. They tried really hard and it was a really young team, but I think we just had too much experience for them.”
St Helens, the 1987 Vase winners, had beaten Nostell and Yorkshire Amateur in the last two rounds, but Tadcaster were expected to comfortably progress.

It took just nine minutes for Tadcaster to go in front. Club captain Thompson scored from the edge of the penalty area and Taddy never looked back.
Ingram headed the second one home with a header from a free kick before Greening slotted the third into the net.
Tadcaster were cruising and Greening added his second goal on the hour mark.
St Helens did pull two late goals back through Andy Gillespie and Marcus Perry.
Tadcaster now enter the last 32 which is a national draw and Marshall added: “I’d fancy a home draw, I don’t want to go away.
“But you take what you are given in the Vase.”
