Tadcaster Albion extended their lead at the top of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division to nine points after Josh Greening’s last gasp goal gave them a 3-2 win at Bridlington Town.
In a topsy-turvy game, Tadcaster had led 2-0 before Bridlington pegged them back in a dramatic finale.
The winner cued scenes that Tadcaster fans have become accustomed to in recent times.
Over 200 turned out – many in fancy dress – in force to cheer on Paul Marshall’s men and they certainly enjoyed the first half.
A positive start saw Greening almost score and then Liam Ormsby covert from a free kick for the opening goal.
The lead was soon doubled with Carl Stewart scoring past Bridlington goalkeeper James Hitchcock.
Bridlington’s danger-man Ombeni Ruhanduka, otherwise known as Duka, played a key role in the home side’s first goal.

His perseverance saw him beat Taddy goalkeeper Pete Lawrie to the ball. He passed to Eddy Birch, who in turn laid the ball on a plate for Benn Lewis, who scored.
Lawrie will have been disappointed when Brid got their equaliser with not long left on the clock.
Ash Allanson’s long range effort slipped through his fingers to put the home side level.
Bridlington had an appeal for a penalty turned down and then with one minute of stoppage time gone, Tadcaster got the winner.
Former Bridlington man Greening beat Hitchcock to the ball and was able to score with an easy chance to win the match.
