Paul Marshall believes Staveley Miners Welfare have the momentum in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title race.
Surprise package Staveley won 12 league games on the bounce until their 1-1 draw at Bridlington on Saturday to propel themselves into the reckoning.
Tadcaster Albion are still top of the pile, despite the 1-0 defeat to rivals Shaw Lane Aquaforce in the show-piece fixture last week.
Marshall told Non League Yorkshire: “It (the Shaw Lane defeat) dents it (title hopes) a little bit, but we are still in front.
“I know these teams have got games in hand, but I wouldn’t like to play on Shaw Lane’s pitch week-in-week-out.
“I don’t know how they are going to get their games and to be fair it ruins their game as they have some good players.
“Somebody will go there and get a draw or a scrappy.
“I don’t think the title race has changed. The team who you have to beat now is Staveley.
“They are the team who are marching on.
“Everybody has been talking about us, Shaw Lane, Worksop and Heanor and then Staveley have come into it.
“Great credit to Staveley because they were good against us. They were organised against us and that started their run of 12 games.
“It’s an unbelievable achievement and I’d like that to go on record. Terry Damms and Jas Colliver have done a great job.”
Taddy are due to host Parkgate tomorrow night at i2i Stadium.
Parkgate are on a roll after two straight victories in the league and Marshall added: “It will be a tough, but we may have Carl Stewart back along with George Bissett and Josh Greening.”
Stewart missed the Shaw Lane defeat because of work commitments, while Bissett and Greening were injured.
