Ossett Albion deserved at least a point from a battling performance in the 1-0 defeat, but were undone in the dying minutes when Lancaster took advantage of a rare error and scored the only goal of the game through Tom Kilfin.
The vistors were unlucky not to be in front at the interval in the Evo Stik Division One North clash when first Adam Muller and then Nicky Mathews forced the Lancaster keeper Mike Hale into making good saves.
As the interval approached Hale was somewhat fortunate not to concede a penalty when after beating the onrushing Albion midfielder Tim Taylor to the ball.
Hale hit Taylor with ball but went unpunished when neither the referee nor his assistant appeared to see the incident.
The second half, in keeping with the first was a very even affair with both defences proving hard to penetrate.
As the half progressed the home side began to push Albion back into their own half.
As the game appeared to be destined for a draw Lancaster won possession on the half way line and moved the ball forward for Kilfin to fire home the decisive goal and give the home side all three points.
