Chris Hilton’s new signing Richard Stirrup scored twice on his return to Stocksbridge
Richard Stirrup returned to Stocksbridge Park Steels with a bang after scoring both goals in Chris Hilton’s side’s important 2-1 win over Goole.
Stirrup only signed back at Bracken Moor on Friday night after leaving Sheffield FC.
Derry Robson’s late goal gave Stocksbridge a nervy finish, but the victory puts further daylight between the Steels and the Evo Stik Division One South drop zone.

The result pushes Nostell three points clear of Glasshoughton, who lost 4-2 at Athersley.
Lee Morris also hit a hat-trick for Shaw Lane Aquaforce in their 3-1 win at Armthorpe.
Denny Ingram’s last gasp equaliser rescued a dramatic point for Tadcaster Albion in the 3-3 draw with Handsworth Parramore. Taddy were trailing 3-1 with six minutes to go.

Pontefract beat Reversal 4-0, while Rossington Main lost 4-2 at Hallam, Yorkshire Amateur were beaten 3-0 at AFC Mansfield.
Hemsworth drew 0-0 with Bottesford – the same score was also recorded at Penistone’s home game with Dronfield.
Knaresborough won 1-0 against Grimsby Borough.
